Smart Card implementations are a growing need in the Middle East and this application is being pursued by most of the organizations. Vxceed has been an early bird in this technology and has offerings of this solution to wide industry areas such as e-Passport, Health, Parking, Access Control, Driving License, Raffles, and Loyalty Programs etc.

• e-Passport: ID Cards as this solution is generally known is a smart card solution for electronic passport. The passports are unique where by the bearer's identity, photograph, thumbprint and other personal details are coded into the smart chip embedded within the passport. These passports are tamper proof and any attempts to duplicate them will be fruitless. Even if the bearer manages to change the main photograph in the passport, the encrypted photograph on the smart chip cannot be altered easily.
• Health: The medical data card would store a person's medical history, insurance information, and emergency contact information for retrieval by terminals installed in hospital emergency rooms and ambulances. Hospitals could use Smart Card terminals for medical information cards. Welfare agencies could use Smart Cards for benefit dispersal.
• Parking: Smart card applications are used in car park systems located in Airports, Bus / Rail stations, Municipality parking areas. This system allows central control units and management systems for entry and exit gates and even allows motorists to pay only for the actual time they have parked.
• Access Control: Security has been a prime concern in recent years and security personnel monitoring certain areas all the time has been a difficult area to address. • Driving License: The smart drivers license would contain a digitized photo and drivers record, a terminal in a police car would display the drivers image for positive identification and automatically print a ticket and record the violation on the license. Police cars could be equipped with terminals for Smart Card driver's licenses.
• Raffles: Instead of a paper-based raffle systems, which have the possibility of wear & tear due to natural calamities smart cards, are a handy solution. Smart Cards are easy to carry and the numbers can be activated by kiosks or card readers available in the Raffle Centre. Unlike the paper based system which can be tampered, the application can be highly secure by allowing only unique serial numbers to be in the database.
• Loyalty Programs: By this program, supermarkets and retail outlets maintain customer database and closely follow customer expenditures, customer-buying pattern etc, birthdays or other special occasions. Customers also have the access to use these them as cash-cards and avoid carrying liquid cash around. Apart from convenience, these cards can have the values reloaded at any time and provides for better budget control and faster transactions than cash, check or credit cards.
